Thumbs up FA-18 Hornet

This is one awesome bird!
Paul Reese did an incredible job on reproduceing the scale gear on Joe McBride's Hornet.
One thing comes to mind! Joe McBride has way to much disposable income and I am jealous

What do the red/amber/green lamp clusters do on the full size u/c ?
Some kind of indicators for the ground crew ?

Incredible.

Having built models for many years, I can appreciate a guy that 'approximates' scale features. Paul just simply blows me away because his work looks just like the real thing, down to the most minute details.

Paul is definately a master craftsman!

He's also recently finished up the canopy detail set too, which is really NICE!

edit: added the "Real Deal" shot so you can see how good he really is

That carrot is "F-4" tape. It's vulcanized rubber tape that only sticks to itself. It's normally used on a wire bundle that's been terminated in place. Great stuff!

Its looks so real. I didn't even think about the carrot, because that's just a normal thing you find on airplanes.

I reminds me of "Honey I shrunk the kids" down to the placards
Spartan those lights are for naval carrier ops the LSO can tell if the plane is high or low by it and can waive the pilot off if the middle light isn't on kinda a reverse meatball. The only thing missing is grease fittings and some chafing.
Makes my efforts look like special olympics entrys
